Secretary's Office of the RL Dynamics and Vibrations
Graduated at Politecnico di Milan in 1997, he received the PhD in Applied Mechanics in 2001. In October 1999 he received a grant for a research on the modelling of wheel-rail interaction at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Politecnico di Milano. In 2001 he was appointed Assistant Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano and in 2010 he became Associate Professor at the Faculty of Industrial Engineering of Politecnico di Milano. Since 2015 is Professor in Applied Mechanics at the Politecnico di Milano. Author of 250 scientific publications and responsible for several projects / research contracts, his latest research is carried out in the field of vehicle dynamics (road and railway) and mechatronics. In particular, as regards road vehicles, research deals with the modeling of tires and their interaction with the soil and the application of optimal control algorithms to the design of hybrid and electric vehicles as well as to the development of fully autonomous vehicles. Instead, as regards mechatronics, the research focuses on the development of integrated solutions in different application fields (from MEMS sensors to integrated sensor nodes to smart components) as well as on the development and use of passive and active metamaterials for vibration isolation.
