The teaching activities of the academic staff of the Research Line “Machine and Vehicle Design” falls under the competence of “Mechanical Design and Machine Construction”. Within this context, group responsibilities include advanced design methodologies and the inspection of machine elements, structural components and mechanical systems.?Research activities developed by the members of the group through partnerships with national and international companies, are bound to:?
- computational and experimental approaches aimed at determining the stress/strain state of components; ?
- advanced methodologies for structural integrity based on the modelling of mechanical behaviour under operating conditions (fatigue, wear, creep…);?
- experimentation and optimization of vehicles;?
- design with innovative materials and “green design”.?
Teaching activities come up beside research through the participation of students in experimental and design laboratories integrated into the courses offered by the research line and with theories, developed with cooperation programmes with industrial partners, and participation in European research programmes.
