ADM2026, the international conference organised and hosted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, has come to a close. From 9 to 11 September, it brought together the scientific and professional community working on design methods and technologies.
The programme featured sessions on a range of topics, including additive manufacturing, digital twins, product design, sustainability, immersive technologies and medical applications, providing a forum for dialogue between research and innovation.
During the conference, the “Prof. Francesco Rosa” Degree Award was received by Andrea Motta, a Mechanical Engineering graduate, for his Master’s thesis, in collaboration with ETH Zürich, on the development of a titanium metastructure to reduce micro-vibrations in cryo-TEM microscopes. His work brings together mechanical design, additive manufacturing and bio-inspired engineering.
The award ceremony took place on 9 September in the presence of his thesis supervisor, colleagues and the family of the late Professor Francesco Rosa.
