PhD Positions

The PhD Programme in Mechanical Engineering is organised and carried out within the Politecnico di Milano Department of Mechanical Engineering. It covers a number of different disciplines, being devoted, in particular, to innovation and experimental activities. We train highly skilled profiles, qualified to meet academic and industrial most challenging demands: our graduates are prepared to embrace careers at the forefront of technology, responding to a call for innovation and top-level research efficiently.

The XXXVIII Cycle Additional Call is now open – DEADLINE December 16th 2022, 2:00 p.m. (Italian time).

Three scholarships, fully-funded with investments provided by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR Missione 4 Istruzione e Ricerca Componente 2 dalla Ricerca all’Impresa), and six research topic scholarships in self-financing or co-funded by companies are; application procedure and information here.

The PhD positions referred above are partially funded by some of the main Italian and international companies and research institutes such as A2A, Ansaldo Energia, Brembo, BLM Group, Italferr, Pirelli Tyre, ST Microelectronics, ENI, Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, Baker Hughes, Comau, Hitachi Rail, Lucchini RS, Stellantis Group.
