Secretary's Office of the RL Manufacturing and Production System
Born in Monza on May 3rd 1979, in 2004 he graduated in Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano and earned his PhD in Technology Technology and Manufacturing Systems with merit in 2008 at Politecnico di Milano. He has been doing research at the Center for Precision Metrology of the University of North Carolina in Charlotte (2010). Since 2011 he has been a researcher in "Technologies and Manufacturing Systems" at the School of Industrial and Information Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. He is with the Department of Mechanical engineering, at the research line "Manufacturing and Production Systems".
As member of the Manufacturing Systems and Quality research group under the "Manufacturing and Production Systems" line, his research focuses on co-ordinated metrology, and in particular the optimization of the techniques for the use of coordinate measuring systems. His most recent research activity focuses on micrometrology (use of 3D microscopy for geometric inspection), the use of computed tomography in the geometric and dimensional field (both from the point of view of system performance and inspection planning), and the definition and verification of geometric tolerances for additive manufacturing.
He is author of around 30 international publications and regularly conducts review activities for international journals.
He is a professor for courses in both Bachelor and Master Degrees in Management Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
He is a member of the Associazione Italiana di Tecnologia Meccanica (A.I.Te.M.) and the American Society for Precision Engineering (ASPE).
