Best Student Paper Award 2025 at ICSV31

The paper “A hybrid learning-based active noise control algorithm for encapsulated structures with linear time variant characteristics”, authored by Alkahf Aboutiman, Hamid Reza Karimi, and Francesco Ripamonti, received the Sir James Lighthill Best Student Paper Award 2025.
This award, promoted by the International Institute of Acoustics and Vibration (IIAV), is presented annually to the best paper at the International Congress on Sound and Vibration (ICSV), one of the leading international conferences in the fields of acoustics, noise, and vibration.
The ceremony took place on July 9th, 2025, during ICSV31 in Incheon, South Korea. On this occasion, Alkahf Aboutiman, a PhD student supported by the IN-NOVA project within the #MSCADoctoralNetworks, was recognised for the quality and innovation of his research, developed under the supervision of Prof. Hamid Reza Karimi and Prof. Francesco Ripamonti at the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
