Call for interest to post-doc candidates - Quantum Technology in Mechanical Engineering
The Department of Mechanical Engineering is launching a new interdisciplinary research area in Quantum Technology. This research initiative will investigate the use of quantum sensing and quantum computing solutions to address mechanical engineering challenges over a three-year project. The Department is actively seeking highly motivated collaborators to join a new team, explore innovative research ideas and develop advanced solutions. Postdoctoral candidates and PhD students nearing completion of their degree are invited to submit their CVs by January 31, 2026, for evaluation by sending an email to mecctothefuture@polimi.it. Selected applicants will be invited to an interview to explore potential future collaboration and hiring opportunities.
Quantum Technology for Mechanical Engineering
The Department is seeking outstanding researchers interested in applying quantum sensing and quantum computing to frontier challenges in mechanical engineering. Our goal is to advance next-generation measurement and computational capabilities and evaluate their impact on real engineering systems.
The project connects with and contributes to several areas within mechanical engineering, including sensor system design, computational mechanics, advanced materials, microfabrication, and additive manufacturing. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to shape a new interdisciplinary research line and to contribute to the development of a prototype demonstrator.
