Bernasconi Andrea

Full Professor

Engineer and researcher in machine design, he has been a full professor since 2023.
He graduated with honors in Mechanical Engineering in 1995 and earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Behaviour of Materials in 2000.
With extensive teaching experience in bachelor's and master's degree programs in Mechanical Engineering, his current teaching focuses on the lightweight design of mechanical structures and the numerical modeling of the mechanical behavior of structures using the finite element method.
His research is currently centered on the experimental analysis and modeling of the mechanical behavior of composite materials and welded or bonded joints, particularly on fatigue behavior. In these areas, he has participated in national and international projects and collaborated extensively with companies.
He is currently the Coordinator of the Ph.D. Program in Mechanical Engineering.
