Full Professor

Federico Cheli graduated in Mechanical Engineering in 1981. In 2000, he became a full professor at the Politecnico di Milano. His main scientific, theoretical, and experimental activities are centered on:
- dynamics of rail, tram, and underground vehicles;
- performance, handling, and comfort of road vehicles
- modeling and testing of tires and their interaction with vehicles;
- rail and road vehicle aerodynamics;
- identification of parameters of mechanical systems and their control;
- studies, designs, and prototypes of hybrid/electric vehicles;
- active control applications applied to road and rail vehicles;
- ADAS system active control;
- connected and autonomous vehicles.
His scientific work has resulted in over 450 scientific papers published in conferences and journals.
