Researcher

Francescantonio Lucà is a Junior Research Associate (RTDa) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering since March 2023. He earned his PhD with honors in 2022, with a thesis on automatic damage detection algorithms for axially-loaded beam-like structures. Since 2016, he has worked on projects ranging from MEMS devices for structural monitoring to data analysis techniques for large buildings like Palazzo Lombardia and G. Meazza Stadium. His studies include data-driven techniques for damage identification from vibration measurements, human-structure interaction, and vibration control using smart materials. He has experience in NVH testing and polarized imaging techniques. He is the author of various publications in scientific journals and international conference proceedings, as well as two book chapters.
