Leonardo Caprio is researcher (RTDA) in Manufacturing and Production Systems. He graduated from the Politecnico di Milano in Mechanical Engineering in 2017 and achieved his PhD in 2021 developing the Laser Powder Bed Fusion process. Highly involved in experimental activities and enthusiast of the laser technology in its different applications, he now focuses on laser cutting and production for the e-mobility sector. He collaborates with various universities and published more than 40 papers. His activity has been awarded with the “Best Student Paper” at ICALEO 2020 and the AITeM prize Edoardo Capello “Giovane Ricercatore” in 2022. He now coordinates the AMAZinc Batt project funded by Fondazione Cariplo for the development of sustainable rechargeable Zn-based batteries produced via Additive Manufacturing.
