Massimiliano Annoni is an Associate Professor in Technologies and Production Systems at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Politecnico di Milano.
His research is devoted to modelling, developing and applying advanced operations of milling, micromachining and high-precision waterjet machining.
He coordinates three research labs: PoliMill, MI_crolab and WJ_Lab.
The waterjet-cutting research led him to start the spin-off company WatAJet.
He has been the coordinator of various regional projects and he has participated into various European projects. He has coordinated two of them, LIVE4.0 and CAPP_AI4.0, on Education in Digital Machining.
He is the author of more than 120 publications in international journals and conferences.
He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Manufacturing Processes (SME).
He is currently involved in studying and applying digital workflows to chip removal processes (CAM, simulation, monitoring, digital twin).
