Niccolò Becattini is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Politecnico di Milano. He teaches Creativity for Sustainable Design, Methods of Technical Representation and Product Virtual Modelling. His research focuses on design-based systematic innovation methods, cognitive aspects of engineering design, human behaviour in design and the design of more sustainable solutions—such as product decarbonization and reduced environmental footprint. He is actively engaged in projects related to artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, co-design, and digital education. Niccolò is co-chair of the Design Society’s SIG on Cognitive Design Science and a member of the Innovation Task Force of the United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot (UNHRD).
