Nicola Debattisti received his PhD degree with honors in Mechanical Engineering in 2024. Since July 2025, he is a researcher (RTDA) at the Department of Mechanical Engineering. His work mainly focuses on the monitoring and diagnostics of railway systems. He is involved in the development of advanced wireless systems for condition monitoring of trains, infrastructures and critical components such as braking systems and pantographs. His PhD work was on the development of the first demonstrator of an Unmanned Railway Vehicle for high-speed line surveillance. Since 2019, he is teaching assistant in Meccanica delle Vibrazioni course of the bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is author of several scientific articles published both in journals and in proceedings of international congresses, and he is co-inventor of a patent related to high-speed train railway pantographs.
