Albertelli Paolo
Associate Professor
He deals with machining and specifically with Machine Tool dynamics and cutting stability. Regenerative chatter modelling, chatter instability detection, vibration suppression and the development of advanced monitoring solutions are some of the covered topics. He is working on Prognostics and Health Management PHM of Machine Tools and their functional modules. He even started working on robotic machining.
Another branch of his research is focused on Energy consumption (assessment, identification, modelling and reduction) in Machine Tools and other Automatic Machines. In the framework of manufacturing sustainability, he is working on cryogenics and minimum quantity lubrication MQL as feasible and environmental-friendly cooling/lubricating solutions for machining hard to cut materials and for some forming processes. He is dealing with large scale additive manufacturing of recycled carbon fibre reinforced polymers.
