Gabriele Cazzulani got the Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2008 and then the Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano in 2012 with a thesis titled “Active control of Smart Structures”. He is currently assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Politecnico di Milano. He is co-author of more that 60 international publications and his research work is mainly carried out in the field of smart structure. In detail, the main research topics are:
- Active control of vibrations for smart structures;
- Innovative measurement systems for control and monitoring;
- Periodic and meta-structures.
He worked together with other researchers and professors of the Department of Mechanical Engineering on many projects related to these topics, both funded by government and industry.
In the past years he also worked on the dynamics of railway vehicles, and particularly on wheel-rail interaction, working on the homologation of of the new ETR1000-V300Zefiro high-speed train.
