Researcher
Federica Buccino is currently working as a Junior Research Assistant (RTDA) at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Politecnico di Milano. Her research interests focus on the multi-scale investigation of bone fragility and the design of novel bio-inspired materials made from waste products.
Federica is part of the coordinating team for two European projects, MSCA GAP and EIC Pathfinder Challenges PANTAREI, where she is also responsible for a research work package.
She has recently been awarded the AIAS prize (2022, Best Paper), the Capocaccia prize (2021, Best Paper, Junior section), and received funding from Ermenegildo Zegna for a research period at ETH Zurich (2020).
