Mario Guagliano, Dr h.c., is full professor of Machine Design.
His scientific interests are processes for the treatment and functionalization of surfaces and for the solid state deposition of powders (cold spray), and new design methods.
He is coordinator of European research projects, responsible for national projects and numerous industrial collaborations.
He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Thermal Spray Technology, technical director of the Il Progettista Industriale magazine (in Italian), member of the Editorial Committee of several international journals and of the Board of Directors of the Italian Scientific Society of Mechanical and Machine Design (AIAS) and of the European Aeronautincs Science Network (EASN).
Author of over 250 publications in international journals, Mario Guagliano has an H-index equal to 55 and is among the 2% of the most cited researchers (Stanford&Elsevier Scientist Ranking).
