Colosimo Bianca Maria
Full Professor
With an MSc degree with honors and a PhD in Industrial Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, followed by a postdoctoral appointment at Pennsylvania State University, she is a Full Professor at Politecnico di Milano, where she co-leads one of Europe’s foremost laboratories in Additive Manufacturing. In 2025 she served as a Visiting Professor at MIT, where she taught the course on Additive Manufacturing. Her research focuses on advanced smart manufacturing solutions, leveraging AI and big data mining to enable more efficient, sustainable, and zero-defect production systems. Recent recognitions include listing among the World’s Top 2% Scientists, the Jack Youden Prize, the George Box Medal, and repeated selection among the Top 100 Italian Women Scientists.
