Dr. Nicla Frigerio earned an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano in 2012, completing her thesis with École Centrale de Paris (now CentraleSupélec). She received a PhD from Politecnico di Milano in 2016 on energy-efficient control of manufacturing systems, with research stays at Purdue University (Indiana, USA) and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China). That same year she joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano as a postdoctoral fellow in the Manufacturing and Production Systems group, and she is now an Associate Professor. Her research centers on production-system modeling, digital twins, stochastic control of production, and energy efficiency of manufacturing equipment. She is a member of AITeM and IEEE. Dr. Frigerio has contributed to multiple national and international research projects and industry collaborations. She teaches Manufacturing and Production Systems within Industrial and Information Engineering programs.
